Why are there so many civilian casualties in Lebanon?

Because Hizbollah is an organization that strikes from behind the skirts of the civilian population.
Here is a prime example and proof to the claim of Hizbollah hiding military targets in civilian homes. I know that they can't match up to Israel in a stand up fight, and this is their solution to make the maximum impact on world opinion, but they are betraying the people they are trying to help by getting them killed!

It is a brilliant ploy by Hezbollah, when you think about it. Once you take into account the fact that they really don't give a damn about the Lebanese people, it is quite clear that they are playing the propaganda game to the hilt. Their scheme rivals Hitler's when he convinced his Germany that the Jewish people were to blame for all of Germany's economic woes.

Hezbollah just has to poke the bear with a stick and leave the poor innocent civilians of Lebanon in the path of an angry bear. The Israelis can blow the crap out of the sticks, but they have to go through the civilian population of Lebanon to do it. By killing "innocent civilians" who happen to allow missile launchers in their garages, Israel looks like the bad guy and aggressor in a war that they didn't start.

Meanwhile, the world watches the plight of the civilian refugees - dead, injured or homeless. Muslims are enraged, Europeans are horrified, and the UN demands that Israel stop its disproportionate response to the kidnapping and rocket barrages.

What should Israel do? They have to find and eliminate Hezbollah's ability to strike them. That means they have to locate the rocket stockpiles and launchers. If the launchers are stored in the garages of houses, should Israel just pick up the phone and dial that person's number? Well that's apparently what Israel thought they should do.

Call me crazy, but this doesn't seem to be a winning strategy in the long run...Granted, they are letting any civilian in the house get clear (helping their PR a little), destroying the rockets and platforms, costing their enemy millions in destroyed munitions, but they allow the terrorists to get away and fight another day...

Since Hezbollah is being supplied by Iran through Syria, and Sheik Hassan Nasrallah the Hezbollah chief is Likely hiding out in the Iranian Bunker, how effective can Israel possibly be? Iran will gladly continue to pay the cost of Hezbollah's munitions and look at it as merely the cost of doing business. They are simply financing their Jihad against Israel and strengthening their control and influence in the region through their proxies. They accomplish their strategic goals and strike a blow against Israel in world opinion as well as in blood and treasure.
